JESSE HOYER
Jesse was born in Denver, CO and lived in three other states before attending Georgia Tech where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Ceramic Engineering. While working as an engineer, Jesse enrolled in an extension of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and eventually moved to Covington, LA to finish her Masters of Divinity on-campus. In Covington, she served as the Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church for 9 years.
Jesse served as a career missionary with the International Mission Board in Eastern Europe for twelve years returning in 2015 to live in Huntsville for 2 years and moved to Birmingham in 2018. In Birmingham, she worked with Society of St. Andrew as the Regional Director before joining Global Gates as a member of the research team in 2020.
Jesse has never married, but has family scattered around the world. She has an older brother and his wife who live in Oregon and a younger sister who lives with her family in South Carolina.
In her spare time, she enjoys baking, Legos, jigsaw puzzles and watching baseball.
As the Children’s Ministry Director, Jesse strives to provide a safe environment for children to learn that God loves them and desires a relationship with them.
Jesse’s role includes:
Managing our children’s ministry operations and activities
Training staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers on child safety procedures
Supporting families with resources and programs
