Ruth 4

Kam concludes our study of Ruth by discussing the book's last chapter. In this finale, Boaz officially becomes the kinsman-redeemer of Ruth and Naomi, he marries Ruth, and they have a son named Obed.  The sermon emphasizes the doctrine of adoption as part of Jesus's story and as part of our calling as the church.  Ruth's story was used by the Lord to adopt Jesus into the lineage of David, which shows the importance of caring for the orphans, widows, and foreigners, and displays how God's mercy and planning are at work in all of our stories.
